Fort Lee
Fort Lee is the densest municipality in Bergen County and the only one where a significant share of the housing market is high-rise. It sits at the western foot of the George Washington Bridge, which is both its defining advantage and its defining traffic problem.

What you are buying
Two distinct markets. The towers along Main Street, Center Avenue and Hudson Terrace offer doorman service, gyms, pools and Manhattan views — with monthly maintenance to match. Behind them, the borough's side streets hold single-family colonials and two-families that look like the rest of Bergen County.
Getting to Manhattan
The 158, 178 and 186 buses run to Port Authority in twenty to thirty-five minutes. Walking or cycling across the bridge to 178th Street is genuinely viable. Driving into Manhattan at peak is not something anyone here recommends.
Schools
Fort Lee Public Schools operates four elementary schools, a middle school and Fort Lee High School. The district serves a notably international student body, reflecting the borough's Korean, Japanese and Russian-speaking communities.
Where people actually go
Main Street runs Korean restaurants, bakeries and groceries for most of its length. Fort Lee Historic Park holds Revolutionary War earthworks and the best free view of the bridge in the state. The Hudson Lights development added a cinema and a public plaza.

Buyers who want a lock-and-leave apartment with the shortest possible commute, and families drawn to the borough's international character.
